This woman admits that she just "birthed a creamy behemoth from [her] cavernous bowels"!
Going to the bathroom is not something that we expect to see on television - it's just not 'classy'! And yet, for PooPourri, whose product takes the odor out of pooping, this campaign works!
The company's viral ad, entitled "Girls Don't Poop," stars 21-year-old Bethany Woodruff, who is Scottish and currently a student at Brigham Young University (BYU). Woodruff got the idea to audition for the commercial from a professor at BYU; she has also said that she did not expect that she would become so famous for her role in it.
Poo-Pourri's founder, Suzy Batiz, said that Woodruff had the potential to become the next Old Spice guy. The YouTube ad titled "Girls Don't Poop", has over 27 million hits. The video received a viral response for its clever product idea and hilarious poo jokes.
An important key to branding is developing the right brand personality. This tongue-in-cheek ad introduces the product and makes us like the brand by making us laugh! If PooPourri were a person, it might be your favorite class clown who was also really smart and eventually went on to become a very successful entrepreneur.
